Safety Dance

Talking about warning signs, I often complain about warning labels on everything. (think: contents of coffee cup are hot, avoid spilling on lap) They seem to condone stupidity. We’ve seen a number of warnings on our journey – but not so much warning against gaps in intelligence as we see at home -- more reminders to control exuberant urges.

The first was the most amusing video on JAL with cartoon characters acting out a litany of airplane rudenesses to be avoided. The segment culminated with a cartoon business man with his shirt unbuttoned, his tie tied around his head samurai style, and a bottle of wine in his hand. They show him stumbling back and forth in the aisle, cartoon parents holding their children closer, with the pithy warning: “Remember alcohol effects air travelers more strongly”

But this was just the tip of the iceberg.

Notice here, no drying clothes in the park and (lower left corner) no urination (apparently for males only though).

And here – a half dozen ways to NOT kill a fish.

However we saw no warnings for this next guys. Based on his actions, he must be American and clearly is going to sue for not being warned “Do not smoke cigarettes while transporting tanks of propane on your bicycle in busy traffic.
